Variable Cost: Variable costs are costs that change with the volume of production or sales. For example, if a company produces more products, the cost of raw materials used will increase, leading to a higher variable cost. On the other hand, if sales decrease, the variable costs will decrease as well. These costs are in contrast to fixed costs, which stay the same regardless of production or sales volume.
