Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP): LDAP is an open, vendor-neutral, industry standard application protocol for accessing and maintaining distributed directory information services over an Internet Protocol (IP) network. It is used to manage and store information about users, groups, and network resources, and is commonly used for authentication and authorization purposes.
